"During his general audience on October 16, 2024, Pope Francis called on all Christians to have “reconciled differences” and promote unity among various denominations.

Speaking to pilgrims gathered in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope expressed hope for “full mutual acceptance” between Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestants.

Reflecting on the Nicene Creed, he explained that the Latin term “Filioque” had been a source of division but suggested that recent dialogues have “lost the acrimony of the past.”"
